Terms & Conditions
These terms govern our complimentary in-depth property survey. Please read them before booking. By requesting or booking a survey you agree to these terms.

1. About these terms
These terms apply to the complimentary in-depth property survey (“the Survey”) offered by Proofterior Group Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”). They do not cover any remedial works, which are provided under a separate written agreement (see section 8). If anything is unclear, please contact us before booking.
2. Who can book a Survey (eligibility)
The complimentary Survey is offered on the following basis. To be eligible you must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be the homeowner, or a decision-maker with the authority to instruct remedial works at the property — for example the legal owner, or someone acting with the owner’s permission.
- Own or be responsible for a property within our coverage area of Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire.
- Provide accurate information about yourself and the property when booking, and be able to give safe access on the day.
Where you are not the sole owner, you confirm you have the owner’s authority to arrange the Survey. We may decline, qualify or reschedule a booking, or treat a Survey as chargeable (see section 3), where these eligibility conditions are not met — for example enquiries from tenants without the owner’s authority, or purely for a third party’s benefit.
3. When a Survey may be chargeable
The complimentary Survey is provided on the basis that it is to assess remedial works we could carry out for you. A fee may apply where a survey or report is requested mainly for another purpose, including but not limited to:
- Mortgage, lending or valuation purposes.
- Pre-purchase, pre-sale or conveyancing.
- Insurance claims.
- Legal proceedings, disputes or expert-witness use.
- Landlord, letting or compliance reporting.
- A report prepared mainly for a third party rather than for remedial works with us.
4. What the complimentary Survey includes
The Survey is a non-intrusive inspection of the reasonably accessible and visible parts of the property relevant to your enquiry. Where practical on the visit, it includes our findings, a written report and an itemised, fixed-price remedial plan. The Survey is provided with no obligation to proceed with any works.
5. Booking, access and your responsibilities
- Please give accurate details and let us know of anything that may affect safe access or inspection.
- Someone aged 18 or over with authority to discuss the property should be present, unless we agree otherwise.
- Please ensure the areas to be inspected are reasonably accessible on the day.
6. Cancelling or rescheduling
You can cancel or rearrange your Survey by contacting us. We ask for reasonable notice so we can offer the slot to someone else. We may charge a reasonable call-out fee only where appointments are repeatedly missed or cancelled at very short notice, and only where we have told you about this in advance.
7. Your report, findings and quotation
Our report reflects our professional opinion based on what was reasonably accessible and visible at the time of the visit. It is not a structural survey, building survey or RICS Home Survey, and it cannot identify defects that are concealed or not reasonably detectable without opening up or intrusive investigation. Any quotation is valid for the period stated in it and may be revised if the scope changes or if concealed issues are found once work begins.
8. No obligation — works are a separate contract
The Survey does not commit you to any works, and it does not commit us to carrying them out. Any works you instruct are subject to a separate written agreement setting out the scope, price, guarantee and terms. Where a deposit is required to secure a start date, this will be set out in that agreement. Depending on how the works agreement is made, you may have statutory cancellation rights, which we will explain at the time. Any finance is provided by a third-party lender and is subject to their eligibility criteria and terms.
9. Use of the report
The report is prepared for you in relation to the property inspected. It is not intended to be relied upon by any third party, and we accept no responsibility to third parties who rely on it without our written agreement.
10. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under law. Subject to that, the complimentary Survey is an opinion provided in good faith, and our liability in connection with it is limited to the extent permitted by law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
11. Data protection
We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
