Built out of frustration with how damp is sold
Damp is one of the few trades where the person diagnosing the fault also sells the remedy — and where the remedy is frequently the same regardless of the fault. That is how homeowners end up with an injected damp-proof course in a house whose real problem was a blocked gully, a bridged cavity or a cold external wall.
Proofterior was set up to separate those two things. Our surveyors are paid to be right, not to sell a system. If your wall is wet because of condensation, you get a ventilation and heating strategy. If it is wet because a chimney has failed, you get the chimney repaired. If it genuinely is rising damp, you get a specified, guaranteed damp-proofing system installed by people we employ.

Diagnose before you specify
Every survey starts with moisture readings, hygrometry and a look at the building fabric — not a product list. A large share of the walls we attend do not need chemical injection at all, and we will say so in writing.
Employed teams, not subcontractors
Surveyors and technicians are on our payroll. The person who diagnoses the problem is accountable to the person who fixes it, and both are accountable to you. Nothing is sold on to a third party.
Written, photographed, evidenced
You receive readings, photographs and a specification you can hand to a solicitor, lender or managing agent. Every live job is photographed stage by stage and handed over as a record.
One trade, whole envelope
Damp rarely sits in isolation. Because we also carry out roofing, masonry protection, insulation and plastering in-house, we can treat the cause and repair the consequence without three separate contractors.
