A surveyor, not a salesperson
The person attending is employed by us and is not paid commission on what you buy. Their job is to establish the cause.

Four things that make the survey sharper
- Roughly when the damp first appeared, and whether it changes with the seasons
- Any previous damp works, injection certificates or guarantees
- Recent surveys, mortgage retention letters or agent correspondence
- Access to the affected rooms, and to the loft or subfloor if relevant

Before you book
Yes, for domestic property inside our coverage area. Where you need a formal signed report for a lender, solicitor or legal proceedings, that is a chargeable specification report and we quote the fee before booking.
No. There is no discount for signing on the doorstep, no time-limited offer and no commission-paid salesperson. You get findings, then a written specification, then time to decide.
Then the report says so. A very large proportion of the walls we attend are wet because of condensation, a failed gutter or a maintenance defect, and none of those need a chemical damp-proof course.
We usually offer appointments within a few working days. Our office hours are Mon–Fri 8am–6pm · Sat 9am–1pm.
We cover Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire from our south-coast base. If you are just outside, call and ask — we will tell you honestly rather than send someone two counties away.
